Blue Monday!!

Having been gutted at missing the social event of the year so far (The Strictly Come Dancing Event) and also a Saturday night in town due to coming down with 'Man Flu'(Otherwise known as a rotten cold!). I finally managed to rally enough energy to pop along to tea at Teelas on Monday with Kate at her new premises. It was great to catch up with the girls including Di, Rachel with her lovely new (real) hairstyle and Mandy who was looking really lovely having had a whole day of make-overs and photo shoots.

We also met a lovely new American girl who introduced herself as Lisa and had us drooling at tales of her American home which had his and hers closets as big as the average lounge in the UK - However she did add that her (ex?) wife had taken over both and still wanted more. She mentioned she now has a small apartment in Manhattan and I couldn't help but think about Carrie from Sex In The City (although she looked more like Charlotte). She was really stunning and I couldn't help but notice that she had a lovely smile with perfect white teeth which Americans tend to have - this was also something I noticed when she transformed back to guy mode which is always a bit of a shock and something I am still trying to get my head around. I was trying not to stare but couldn't help looking at those beautiful teeth - they were so dazzling they were mezmerising!

Dave (Teelas lovely hubby) and I had a chat about loads of things including the weather, economy, chocolate cravings and holidays - all the important things in life obviously!! Apparently Monday 19th is scientifically proven to be the worst day of the year due to the Christmas overspending and the weather etc...... I certainly agreed with this as I started to feel really rough again and despite the lovely company I began to wish that I had opted for the hot bath and early bed option. However after a cup of tea and a cake I started to rally a bit. We had a little tour of the new premises which are still a work in progress but are looking really homely.

After a while I was flagging a bit and was sitting chatting with Rachel about home decor and improvements whilst waiting for Kate to get our coats when our own lovely Lisa appeared unexpectedly in Bob mode - after informing him I wasn't feeling too well he gave me a lovely cuddle which made me feel so much better - thankyou for that my lovely friend.... Roll on Spring!!

LAZY TOWN

Having realized that the recent spate of Christmas dinners and mince pies with cream and other festive indulgences have taken their toll on the figure - a fact futher compounded by a recent error in the purchasing department by Kate and I having somehow mistaken a size 18 dress to be a 10 and failing the challenge to squeeze myself into it (top half that is - the size 10 I hasten to add )- and having recently graduated from a cup size B (bountiful) to a C (supposedly charming)but in my opinion too chuffin much- I was determined not to move up to a D supposedly delightful but on my 5ft frame more like Dolly Parton!!
I decided drastic action was necessary with full on High Impact Aerobic Sessions required rather than my usual dancing around the kitchen. The problem with this of course was that my now ample cleavage required a sports bra to cope with the increased activity and of course some nice new sports wear to give added incentive. I spotted just the thing in good old M&S with their fabulous new pentathlon range -zingy and clingy and complete with MP3 player pockets !!
Having modelled my new outfit for Bob - Kate decided she too needed a similar outfit in order to take control of her figure issues (mainly in the tummy region) and we acquired a similar blue version for her. So now we both look like Sporticus '- he of the BBC childrens programme Lazytown 'where no ones Lazy' apparently!
Target weight loss 1/2 a stone (or a cup size) for me 2 stone for Kate and 100+ pounds well ££££sss for Bob in the wallet department!

Matching Tops and Anoraks!

On our most recent outing/ shopping trip we spotted 2 lovely tops in a shop window and decided to investigate further and found 2 even nicer versions inside with one in each of our sizes in our favourite but different colours (purple for Kate and Turquoise for me). However an alarm bell rang as we have always tried to avoid the 'matching anorak syndrome' which can happen when couples have been together for a long time....On a few occasions we have spotted items (shoes, handbags etc) that we both like and have usually managed to negotiate a compromise so that only one of us gets the item therefore avoiding the matching set scenario....However on this occasion the top was so lovely and looked different in each colour.....that we agreed on one each and loosely agreed not to wear them at the same times.

However that went out of the window on our latest evening out - we decided to go more casual - trousers for me and jeans for Kate as it was so cold and we both ended up in our new tops!
Apologies to the fashion police in advance....it was her fault officer....she made me do it!

What Women Want

Just been watching the film of the title with Helen Hunt & Mel Gibson getting in touch with his feminine side. Although it is a bit cliche it does touch on a few interesting points that most T-girls will know i.e women just want someone who will listen to them and understand their complicated emotional issues.....not an easy task......to anyone struggling with this I can recommend a gorgeous teddybear to lend a willing and sympathetic ear and plenty of hugs!!!

An Amazing Year

Kate and I had a fantastic New Year's Celebration in Manchester with our wonderful friends. Looking back on previous years I can honestly say it was the best party I have been to on New Year and being of Scottish extraction I have been to some wild ones!
The evening started quietly enough in the downstairs bar of Naps with Tanya and some girls we knew vaguely from Northern Concorde I got to chatting with one of them about broadband connections and TV reception of all things! When Kate enquired what we were taking about I said TV's with a TV!!

Once the disco had gotten underway upstairs we moved on up for a boogie and as it was fairly quiet we had a good old time to ourselves. Kate had excelled herself on the presentation front with a lovely silver top embellished with gems that we had chosen together in a trendy store on one of our shopping trips. She had somehow managed to conjure up an impressive cleavage using a padded bra, filets and shading/contouring tricks and techniques and teamed with silver leggins and her new ankle boots, she looked very foxy. I quipped that its a good job that 'she' is the he as she would be out of my league if I were a he.

Kate is good fun when we are out but can be different than Bob in many ways in that 'she' is more selfish and can be stroppy and takes flippin ages to get ready - but to be honest many of my younger girl friends were like that when we were out (nice as pie in the ordinary world) but out for themselves in the night club world. I put it down to stress and alcohol!

Anyway I digress - back to the party we were joined by Lisa and Dianna who had been out for a meal earlier and it was great to see the new year in with them....I just hope that the year ahead will be as amazing and happy as the last one (My mantra for last year was that 2008 would be just great) - Hoping that 2009 will be just fine -like vintage wine!!

Wishing you all a fabulous New Year with an abundance of health, wealth (despite the credit crunch) and happiness!

Hibernation and Hysteria

Having spent the Christmas Week in a happy combination of hibernation and house-arrest we decided to brave the Trafford Centre for a serious session of sales therapy. I find the thought of the sales appealing but find the reality to be disappointing and exhausting. The journey in started off fairly quietly but we were soon met by queues of traffic at the entrance and found ourselves directed to the overflow car park - but at least we arrived safely without too much stress!

Having ended up at the far entrance and being let down by our usual favourite stores which were full of uninspiring 'imported' sale stock and overly loud 'banging' music and overly bright lights we were guided by fate to the Bon Marche store - a shop that we don't usually go into as I mistakenly thought to be 'down-market' but we found it too be an oasis of calm and tranquility with some great bargains to be had. I found a lovely David Emmanuel skirt for £10 and a beautiful silk top (perfect for Sparkle?) for under £20 and some lovely jewellery all 50% off - and I wasn't even looking for anything - which is usually the best way to find bargains!

Kate was looking for some girly jeans and ankle boots and successfully found both without too much trauma in the same store. Unfortunately the trade off was that I left my favourite scarf behind at the restaurant we called into whilst waiting for the crowds to clear so that we could get off the car-park without queuing.... Still as I find in life you win some and you loose some!!

Happy New Year to you all. See you in 2009 xxx

Now that the 'Silly Season' is well and truly upon us and all of Santas little helpers are busy wrapping presents and preparing enough food to feed an army. I will take this opportunity to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas - and a very Happy, Healthy, and hopefully Wealthy New Year.xxx
