Debut

Kate had been going to the various meals in the village with the other girls for quite a few months and was keen for me to go along. I had been following various other girls blogs through the links from Kay D's web site (Nicky and Jessica). Kay is particularly sensitive to the needs of wives and partners and has provided several links to useful websites. I had also been visiting the Angels Website and had become familiar with quite a few of the 'girls' through their postings and was quite keen to meet up with them and listen to their stories . However due to various commitments at home and work the opportunity had not really arisen as it was always difficult to get away on time to travel into Manchester.

However one evening in May fate was with us and we were able to get ready and out on time (totally last minute). It was very strange to be going into Manchester on a night out as it had been over 25 years since I had done so ( I was a disco girl in my younger days - still am I suppose I love to dance the night away - no wonder I had a perfect size 8- 10 figure then! Nowadays I am more of a size 12 now nudging a 14 top! - but not too bad I suppose for a late 40 something!) More dancing the night away required I think!

We parked the car and walked up to AXM where the first girl we met was Lisa who was really lovely - very warm and welcoming. We sat down and were introduced to Diane who has become a good friend and unbeknown to me at the time was on her first time 'out' .
Interestingly one of our party referred to herself as Simon I enjoyed chatting to Simon and found out quite a bit about Sparkle (the week-end event to be held in June - more about that to follow) and places to stay. We also chatted about other issues vegetarianism etc and found a gentle,caring soul in there. I think that description fits most of the t-girls I have met which is maybe a common and very welcome characteristic and therefore you should be glad to have a partner who is so kind and caring, not the usual ugg 'Bob' as I refer to the butch/macho types.

We had a lovely meal in the Italian Restaurant(the best salmon I have had anywhere). I chatted to a very pretty blonde lady called Penny who was wearing a lovely strappy floral dress very similar to one I had myself! She told some funny tales about being stopped by the police when travelling en femme but seemed to take it all in her stride. There were also 2 Irish ladies there as it is cheap to travel over on Ryan Air one of the ladies June had picked up a flight for £1!!. I had hoped to meet Kay to thank her for looking after Kate (This is a weird thing - I always feel protective towards Kate when we are out 'dressed'). Speaking of being dressed the girls all looked lovely Lisa had the 'girl about town' look to perfection she had done really well with the look considering that she does not as I later found out have her partners support. Penny was in the same situation ie. her wife knew but did not want to be involved which is such a shame - I appeal to all wives and partners you don't know what you are missing.
Kate and I now have a fantastic social life with loads of wonderful new friends we would never have met otherwise - many of whom as we have discovered live very close by. This whole experience has added another dimension to our relationship which has unexpectedly proved to be very positive.
